ngmoco has released its fourth game for iPhone and iPod Touch. It's called Dropship, and is a 3D action-shooter with some innovative features.

The game sees you controlling a thrust-powered ship, with your job being to evacuate mates from enemy caverns, snagging upgrades as you go.

The game's campaign mode has 18 missions to play through, plus an unlimited freeplay mode. However, the interesting element is the inclusion of downloadable levels, with three available initially.

Hang on, Apple doesn't let developers do downloadable content in iPhone games, right?

We're assuming ngmoco is doing something clever with streaming the level data into the game - similar to what Tapulous is doing with the downloadable tracks in Tap Tap Revenge. Although that's just a guess at this point.

Dropship also has a neat control system with two virtual analog pads, with one controlling your ship's movement, and the other controlling your direction of fire.

The game is on the App Store now for a mere £1.19, so looks set to pick up an audience quickly.
