Dragon Island Blue looking to blend Pokemon with dungeon crawling action
Submitted to Apple for review
Dragon Island Blue isn't exactly hiding its primary influence with a title like that, but let's cut it some slack as at least it looks to be trying something a little different with the Pokemon formula.
There are, as expected over 200 creatures to capture and train in the upcoming iOS RPG, with your hero able to put three of said minions into turn-based battle at once.
What's most interesting (apart from the fact it actually looks rather well made from the video), is that the dungeons are randomly created as with a dungeon crawler. There is, however, a story behind all the RPG battling, so it's not just an sprawling 2D adventure.
Dragon Island Blue has been submitted to Apple, so expect to see it pop up either next thursday or the week after. The game will launch at an introductory price of 69p/99c, before subsequently rising to £1.99/$2.99.
