Doodle Jump has just been given an Easter-themed update – and it’s not just the ridiculous earliness of this seasonal revision that’s interesting.

The game’s developer, Lima Sky, has teamed up with Universal Pictures and tied the update into the studio’s upcoming live action/animation film Hop.

The update sees the game’s ever-present main character Doodle the Doodler (yes, he actually does have a name) replaced by Hop’s furry protagonist, the Easter Bunny.

Changing the breaking platforms into eggshells and the enemies into a variety of Easter rejects, the update is a colourful but ultimately unspectacular addition to the game.

To unlock the update all you need to do is update your app and then replace your name with ‘Hop’ on the Game Over screen. Changing it back turns the update off again.

Doodle Jump (with extra Hop) is available to buy now for the iPhone for 59p / 99c / €0.79.
