We've been following the progress of DS game Doodle Hex for some months now, and the rune-casting game has been looking quite promising.

Fortunately, our high hopes for it haven't been dashed by a series of videos now up on the game's official site. Go to the Media section of the flash site, then to the Videos segment and you'll find three trailers, each of which explains a different element of the game.

The rune-based one-on-one battles are all detailed by a very soothing voiced man, too, which is always a bonus. Well, if you're into men, obviously.

The videos show how two characters can go up against one another in the game using a series of stylus drawn gestures in the central arena as attacks. You can also defend yourself from incoming strikes and the action from the touchscreen is transformed into a real-time 2D scrap you can watch on the top screen.

Doodle Hex is in development currently with Spanish studio Tragnarion and is its first DS game. It's due for release in June.
