Ankama's sequel to its MMO spin-off Dofus: Battles has landed on the App Store for both iPhone and (as an HD version) for iPad.

Dofus: Battles 2 reverses the premise of its prequel, turning what was originally a tower defence game into a "tower attack" title.

Playing as Jeff Stobbs, you have to to use a device known (amusingly) as the Slablet and form an army to rival any nasty monsters that roam the World of Twelve.

As in the PC MMORPG and its iOS predecessor, Dofus: Battles 2 packs in some exquisitely drawn 2D artwork alongside its grid-based battlefields, and is set within the same story universe as the main game.

Dofus: Battles 2 is available now on iPhone, priced at £2.49 / $3.99. Strangely, given that it isn't a Universal app, the HD iPad version is exactly the same price.

There's also a Lite version of both games to try if you want to dip your toes in the water first.
