BBC Worldwide and Supermassive Games bringing Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock to Sony's PS Vita

BBC Worldwide has announced that it's working with UK-based developer Supermassive Games to bring an all-new Doctor Who game to the PC, PS3, and - most importantly for us - the PS Vita.

Entitled Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock, the forthcoming sci-fi title will allow you to don the Doctor's fez, strap on a 'cool' bow tie, and travel across time and space to save planet Earth. River Song will also be a playable character.

Any impact you have on one time zone will automatically affect other zones, which is said to create "multiple possibilities" and paths to explore.

Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock has been written in collaboration with BBC Wales and features a "wholly new storyline".

Anyone for a Jammie Dodger?

According to a BBC press release, the current Doctor, Matt Smith, and River Song actress Alex Kingston are both on board the project, and have recorded full voice-overs for their in-game counterparts.

Motion capture sessions have also been used to ensure each character looks as real as possible.

Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock will be the first of three "console" games to be released, but it's currently unclear whether all of them will make it to Sony's handheld.

We'll keep you updated.
