Match-three puzzler Diamond Dash, the world's "most popular social arcade game", has been downloaded a whopping 11 million titles since it landed on Apple's iPhone and iPad back in December 2011.

Diamond Dash was one of the first iOS games to fully implement Facebook Connect, and offer features such as the ability to sync your score between iOS and Flash versions of the game.

64 per cent of all new players are choosing to use their Facebook account to sign into the application, whereas only 28 per cent plumped for the social network back when the game launched.

The gamers that do decide to use Zuckerberg's Facebook are eight times more likely to spend real-world money on in-game treats, and spend around 50 per cent more than the game's average user.

Over 100,000 punters are already playing Diamond Dash on Apple's all-new Retina display-equipped iPad. Furthermore, 13 per cent of all Diamond Dash downloads have been for the new tablet since it launched on March 16th.
