It's called Destiny's Child Groove. Say its name, say its name...

Destiny's Child launch bootylicious mobile game

As recent research from Orange showed, mobile games are currently more popular than mobile music – at least in terms of what people buy from their operators. So it's no surprise to find the music industry reviving its interest in mobile games based on popular artists.

To wit: Destiny's Child Groove, a music rhythm game starring everyone's favourite R&B trio. Developed by Square Enix and Sony BMG Music Entertainment, we've written about it before, but it's just been released in the US.

The game features four of the group's songs – Survivor, Bug A Boo, Say My Name and Lose My Breath – in a traditional rhythm game that involves pressing keys in time to on-screen prompts and the songs themselves. Meanwhile, Beyonce, Kelly and Michelle cheer you on as you go.

"Destiny's Child Groove has great graphics, you can take it with you wherever you go, and I love that I get to encourage players as they get better and better at the game," says Michelle.

RealArcade released a Gorillaz game last year, 50 Cent has his own suitably violent title, and we have dim memories of a mobile game where you had to manage boy-band Busted, but otherwise games based on artists are thin on the ground.

Our suggestions? A driving sim where you have to get George Michael home in the evening without falling asleep, a Babyshambles branded title where you play Kate Moss running round your home hiding crack pipes from Pete Doherty, and an ultra-gruesome beat'em up starring 467 armed-to-the-teeth ninjas and James Blunt.

Obviously, you'd control the ninjas. And Blunt would be tied to a chair. It's a winner!
