DS shooter The Ward picks up a name tweak and publisher
Remember, it's all in your mind
It's been a busy couple of weeks for upstart publisher Gamecock, which is sucking up innovative DS games such as third-person shooter/noir detective title Insecticide and quirky fungi combat game Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars like they're going out of fashion.
This week, it's gone for creepy first-person shooter The Ward, a game first revealed by its developer back in March, although since then it's received a tweaked title. It's now to be known as Dementium: The Ward
The nasty details – man awakes to find himself alone in a mysterious, derelict hospital full of deadly, surgical mishaps and experiments – remain frighteningly the same, however.
So armed with only an increasing powerful armoury (from torch and nightstick to shotgun and AK) you have to unlock a series of challenging puzzles and overcome the grotesque inhabitants to escape with your miserable life. Or do you?
Currently without a release date, we'd expect Dementium: The Ward to be lurching into shops sometime before the end of the year.
