Defenders of Law, Inc. brings intrigue and conspiracy to the DS
Puzzle-based crime drama coming this summer
Murder mystery games seem to be having something of a boom, and judging by the generally high quality of recent offerings it's no bad thing.
And so enters Portuguese developer Gameinvest with a puzzle-driven crime drama for the DS, Defenders of Law, Inc.: Crime in Willburg. You choose your role as one of five hot shot litigators, hired to defend the lead suspect in a high profile murder case. The case begins with a 15 day limit to search for clues, hidden objects and evidence to be analysed in the lab.
"We created complex criminal heroes in Defenders of Law, Inc. as a way to draw players into a story that feels like a really good crime novel," Gameinvest founder and CEO Paulo Gomes says.
"As an attorney in the game, players will uncover the mysteries behind each individual character while proving the innocence of their client. It creates a much deeper experience than the typical casual game yet it's still accessible to everyone."
Defenders of Law, Inc. promises a unique card-game style of play for facing off against the prosecutor in court, with different outcomes each time you play through the story. With a reported 40 hours of gameplay, it's worth waving a magnifying glass over the 'Track It!' button and gathering clues as more news comes in.
