Chillingo launches Defender Chronicles on iPhone

iPhone publisher Chillingo has been snapping up all the App Store's hottest new talent lately, and has just added Gimka Entertainment's Defender Chronicles: Legend of the Desert King to its list.

Adopting a side-on view of the RPG action, Defender Chronicles boasts something of a classic arcade beat-'em-up profile, though it promises gameplay more akin to a role player and a tower defence title.

It's built around an epic quest filled with desperate princesses (by which we assume it means 'princesses in a desperate situation', rather than the other thing), lots of artefact hunting and a rich storyline of fantastical heroes and monsters.

There can't be all that many 2D tower defence platform RPG games out there, and with five different game modes, a host of boss battles, full voice acting and an original soundtrack, Defender Chronicles is surely worth a closer look.
