Fast-paced gothic shooter DeathSmiles is set to blast open the App Store's doors on July 7th, at a special four-day introductory price of £2.99 / $4.99 / €3.99.

However, if you want to get a pre-release peak at the bullet hell action, you can tune into Cave's Ustream channel from 11am GMT on July 1st for an exclusive display.

Although the presentation will be given in Japanese, the company is planning a live blog for those of you who don't speak the lingo.

DeathSmiles was first released for arcades back in the forgotten days of 2007, before being ported to the Xbox 360 in 2009.

The iPhone release will feature an entirely new game mode, practice modes, and a new playable character - Tiara, the Princess of Gilverado.

And for all you competitive types, you'll be able to upload your high score to both Game Center and OpenFeint, and unlock several achievements.

After the initial four-day sale period is over, DeathSmiles will retail at its regular price of £5.49 / $8.99 / €6.99. A Lite version will also be available.
