Deal or No Deal dealt onto DS
No Noel Edmonds so far fans, this is the US edition
Once upon a time, listless university students spent their time drinking hooch and watching Neighbours. But what with all the competitiveness and debt involved in gaining a higher education, now they're more likely to be sipping Ginseng tonics and working out spreadbets based on the probabilities involved in the banker's offer in Deal or No Deal.
How can this fascinating experience in social economic theory (fascinating, that is, when viewed through a TV screen) be successful when taken interactive? Don't ask us, just consider its top-selling status as a mobile phone game where it was the Christmas No.1, and prepare for its introduction as a casual DS game.
The only snag is that the first DS version to be announced is based on the North American game show, starring germ-phobic host Howie Mandel rather than the somewhat more hairy Noel 'Cosmic' Edmonds. Surely it's only a matter of time until someone makes Noel an offer even he can't refuse?
Deal or No Deal (US Edition) is due for release on June 1st.
