Metroid’s Samus and Ridley appear in Dead or Alive: Dimensions trailer
Power bomb pugilist
The latest trailer for 3DS fighting game Dead or Alive: Dimensions hints that Metroid characters and levels might appear in the upcoming brawler.
The video shows Kasumi and Ryu duking it out in a toasty lava pit from Nintendo’s sci-fi game series, as Metroid’s recurring boss Ridley drops in to spice up the battle. At the end of the trailer, feisty franchise protagonist Samus Aran drops into the battlefield, and plops out a power bomb.
Could the Zebes bounty hunter be making a cameo appearance in the upcoming game?
This isn’t the first time that Dead or Alive featured a cameo character - a Master Chief-style Spartan warrior from Halo was seen in DOA 4 - and not the first time that Nintendo’s allowed its characters to feature in a fighting game -Zelda’s Link was in Soul Calibur II on GameCube.
Plus, Team Ninja just released Metroid: Other M on Wii.
All signs point to this being more than just a trailer gimmick, and the Metroid characters will indeed appear in the 3DS game. Dead or Alive: Dimensions hits Japan on March 24th.
Could this be what Wossy meant?
