You stand barefoot on the cold, damp floor. Little do you know your worst nightmare is about to begin. A shotgun lays on the floor beside you, soaked in a pool of blood. One thing is certain, no way are you going to not pick it up. You take your first steps to wander out into the hall, and to your surprise, you pull the trigger. You are faced by an army of zombies, baying for your blood. Let's face it, you don't want to end up like them, do you? There's only one solution, keep pulling that trigger. Find out the truth behind this mystery and try to end your nightmare. Where are the clues? Are there others like you? Any survivors?

Boom, boom, bang, bang – such a chilling introduction can only herald more news of the DS' very own House of the Dead clone, Dead & Furious.

We're glad to see the shambling on-rails shooter is still on track – with some new screenshots – even if we're no nearer to discovering when it will be released here. We do know Eidos will be releasing it in North America under the name Touch the Dead in May, but apparently it won't be handling publishing duties in Europe.

So in the meantime we'll have to just make do with garnering more knowledge of the game. Shooting zombies by aiming and tapping the screen and drag and dropping ammo to reload, you will also be able to change your viewing angle to look more closely at fine details in the scene to find secrets and unlockable items – but obviously only after you've wiped out every last mutha-chomping zombie in the locale.

There will be five frightful chapters, which will branch out with multiple endings providing replayability. During the ride, you'll also have to make sure you protect any innocent characters you come across from zombie attentions, while timed sequences involving a jeep and a helicopter will test your stylus aim.

Other features will include the ability to play through the entire game in a Time Crisis-style two-player co-op mode.
