DS goes ghostbusting with Danny Phantom

When you're a kid, the world is a flexible place, full of superhero powers and powerful alter egos. Even in kidulthood, one of the standard questions in an interviewer's armoury is, 'What would you do if you were invisible for a day?'

Cue the dramatic entrance of Nickelodeon cartoon character Danny Phantom. Seemingly an ordinary 14-year old boy, Daniel Fenton's secret ability is the ability to become the ghostly Danny Phantom.

Of course, it's all down to a tragic accident in a laboratory – his folks are ghost hunters after all. And that's the route Danny takes too, turning his back on his new ghoulish race and choosing to protect the people of Amity Park from the escapees from the mysterious Ghost Zone.

Which brings us to The Urban Jungle, Danny's first DS adventure.

The appearance of an eco-ghost sees Amity Park turned into a 2D wilderness of twisted thorns and monstrous vegetation. Armed with a new freeze power (surely a cannister of Agent Orange would be more useful?), it's up to Danny Phantom and the sometime helpful inventions produced by his jumpsuited, fudge-and-ham obsessed dad to save the day.

One of the more interesting such inventions is the Fenton Flier, which also brings some 3D Tempest-style spaceship action into the gameplay.

Currently being soaked in baby-bio and potato vodka, Danny Phantom The Urban Jungle is due to be brought out of the greenhouse in March.
