Cobra spins Dam Busters game to App Store
It's gone bombing bonkers
Maybe it's because of all the fuss surrounding Peter Jackson's Stephen Fry-scripted remake of the classic film, but The Dam Busters is a meme back in circulation.
And those canny fellas at CobraMobile have been fully infected. They're in the process of releasing their version of Dam Busters to the App Store.
Like similar Cobra games such as sidescrolling Chav Zombie Hunt and the forthcoming topdown Bombs Away, Dam Busters is 2D game in which you have to guide your super-deformed Lancaster to the drop zone and then release your bouncing bomb.
Controls work as you tilt your iPhone or iPod touch to avoid enemy fire and fighters, while picking up fuel power-ups along the way. Once it's time to drop the bomb, you have to spin it up to speed with your finger before dropping and guiding it to the target, picking up yellow rubber duck boasts as you go.
As you can probably tell, this isn't a very serious game. And no, as far as we know, it doesn't feature the squadron's doggy mascot either.
