Nintendo is currently doing the rounds with the global press, highlighting its plans for the remainder of the year. One particular DSi announcement that caught our eye (our DS-eye, you might say (if you were a bit rubbish)) is the latest addition to the WarioWare franchise.

WarioWare: Do It Yourself is built around 90 different micro-games, each lasting no more than ten seconds. On top of these gaming blipverts is the ability to create your own WarioWare puzzles from scratch using the DSi's camera and touchscreen. Graphics, animation, sound and gameplay will all be yours to wield, as well as the option to share your creations with friends.

Nintendo is even launching a design competition to get players creating their own WarioWare: DIY levels, with the winner having their micro-game distributed to everyone who owns the game.

Finally there'll be a Wii Shop showcase channel launched, giving you access to a further 70 WarioWare: DIY microgames and an unlockable multiplayer mode.

WarioWare: DIY is slated for release on April 30th, and keep an eye out for our hands-on preview coming soon.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
