DSi recommended retail price drops to £120
Will retailers drop their prices?
Nintendo has dropped the recommended retail price of the DSi to £119.99, just weeks before the company unveils its next handheld, the 3DS, at E3 this month.
It was previously set at £149.99, but retailers such as Amazon and GAME already offered the console at a discount, both setting their price at £120. With this new RRP those retailers will be able to alter their prices accordingly, but haven't done so yet.
GAME has it on the retailer's to-do list though. Speaking to MCV, GAME's PR head Neil Ashurst said "We will announce our new pricing in due course", so whatever you do, don't buy a DSi today.
The DSi is an update to the Nintendo handheld range that features a front facing camera and lets you buy and play downloadable DSiWare games.
You could get a giant DSi XL instead, which retails for around £150, or the bog standard DS Lite, which is usually less than a hundred quid, if you shop around. Or just wait for the 3DS, which will be shown off at E3 on June 15th.
