If you’re a Wii owner, you may be looking forward to the long promised Wii video service. Well, if you live in Japan you’re in luck. If you don’t live in Japan, please return to your seat and wait for your number to be called.

The video service, called the 'Wii no Ma Channel', is due to launch in Japan on May the 1st. Of particular interest to us is that fact that it’ll be possible to transmit videos from the Wii to the DSi. You’ll also be able to download coupons onto your DSi and scan them in shops.

No word on a European or American release as yet, but in lieu of good news please accept this video of the technology in action, narrated unintelligibly but nonetheless beautifully by a Japanese man.
