Nintendo’s GDC highlight is a DS sequel

GDC '09: Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks revealed

Amidst a big pile of nothing, Nintendo made a closing announcement at its GDC show about a new DS game, Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks.

Essentially this appears to be much like Phantom Hourglass - its prequel - only putting Link on a train instead of his usual ship, and shooting cannonballs in a similar touchscreen method as the previous game.

Other than a decent retro games list for the new DSiWare Virtual Console, it seems handheld Nintendo games are very thin on the ground, so let’s hope Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks shapes up to be as good as it looks.
