New Star Wars: The Clone Wars game coming to DS

Advert confirms game of the animated series due this autumn

New Star Wars: The Clone Wars game coming to DS

Pick yourself up a copy of Lego Indiana Jones when it's released next week (if you still have some Indy love left after watching the latest film) and you'll be treated to a sneak peak at an advert for a previously unannounced new LucasArts Star Wars game.

The back of the Lego Indiana Jones instruction booklet, relatively eagle-eyed people over at IGN have noticed, carries an advert for the game Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Interestingly, the ad has the game down just for a DS and Wii release this autumn, making it an exclusive for the two Nintendo consoles (though a Clone Wars game had previously appeared on other consoles).

One reason for that perhaps is that as the game is a stylised spin-off of the animated series and upcoming movie, instead of a regular Star Wars game, the publisher may feel it's more suited to Nintendo's perceived younger audience.

The events in this animated series and movie take place between Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, and if the game uses the same cast should feature familiar faces such as Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi doing battle across a far, far away galaxy. A long time ago, obviously.

As for specifics on the game, well there are none at the moment. We just have that single page advert to go on. But we're thinking LucasArts is bound to unveil more details when Lego Indiana Jones is released on June 6th. We'll keep you posted.
