E3 2009: Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box revealed

Amazon recently pinned a US release date of August 24th on Level 5's sequel to the hit DS game Professor Layton, and The Diabolical Box has now been officially confirmed.

Other than that, not a whole lot has been said about this highly anticipated sequel. Fortunately, the Prof decided to reveal himself for E3 (so to speak), and we hear that Layton and Luke stumble across another mystery involving a host of puzzle to lead you from clue to clue.

You'll be enlisted to help the intrepid pair navigate their way through the puzzles in an effort to discover who (or what) caused the death of Professor Layton's mentor, Dr Schrader.

Was it the mysterious Elysian Box, rumored to kill all who open it? Professor Layton and Luke find a clue that begins their adventure: a train ticket for the Molentary Express.

Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box will feature more than 150 new puzzles, riddles and logic problems, along with new downloadable content for both the DS and the DSi each week for 33 weeks after the game's launch.

Let's hope August 24th is a worldwide release date - we don't want to have to wait too long for this beauty.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
