Whilst the craze that was Pokemon only felt like it happened yesterday, it was actually over a decade ago when Pokemon Red and Pokemon Blue first hit the western world, having already created prolific Pokemon-fever in Japan.
The allure of Pokemon has certainly died down in recent years, but few can deny that Pokemon is still big business, as the excitement for the remakes of the Gold and Silver versions, due to be released on March the 26th, can attest.
If you didn't know, HeartGold and SoulSilver are basically remakes of the original Gold and Silver games specifically for the DS, hopefully with some new bells and whistles thrown in for good measure.
Not only that, but Nintendo also revealed that the Pokewalker, a pedometer accessory, will be included in the package.
Whether some of us would like to admit it or not, Pokemon was a massive success, which is why Guinness Book of Record named it not only the the biggest selling RPG on the Gameboy, but also of all time.
Assuming the same addictive gameplay and collection nature is preserved in the DS form, we may just be in for something special.
