While thousands of muggles formed late night queues in preparation for last Friday's release of
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and 500 got to hear JK Rowling reading the book in the Natural History Museum, when it comes to celebrating the UK launch of
Pokémons Diamond and Pearl this week, the numbers will be limited to a mere 200.
As well as getting their copy of the game a day early (Thursday), these gamers gain the dubious pleasure of listening to rapidly-aging pop scamps, McFly.
The exclusive event, to be held at the Hamleys store in Regent Street at 6pm on Thursday July 26th, has been set up by GAME and Nintendo, and will be limited to the first 100 people to have pre-ordered
Pokémon Diamond and the first 100 to have pre-ordered
Pokémon Pearl, either from the GAME concession in Hamleys or GAME's Oxford Street store.
For everyone else however,
Pokémons Diamond and
Pearl will be released on July 27th, priced £30 (or less).
