Nintendo of America has announced that the next Pokemon title heading to the Nintendo DS will be Pokemon Conquest - the western version of the previously Japanese-only title, Pokemon + Nobunaga's Ambition.

Rather than being a traditional Pokemon title, Conquest sees you square up against feudal Japanese warriors (who just so happen to have Pokemon at their side) in turn-based, isometric, 'tactics'-style gameplay.

Some elements from the original canon are, however, present and correct, including "super effective" element-based attacks and over 200 Pokemon from across the series's history.

Pokemon Conquest will be out in North America on June 18th. No word on a European release just yet, but we'll keep you posted.
