Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Sky coming to DS

Prepare yourself for another minor Poké-update

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Sky coming to DS

It's getting harder and harder to whip ourselves up into the prerequisite Japanorama frenzy when we hear about new Pokémon games, as it's been forever since we saw any kind of significant new gameplay.

Now we hear from 1UP that a sequel to the rather bland Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness and Explorers of Time is pegged for an imminent Japanese release, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Sky.

Apparently we'll be seeing five new pocket monsters, including Riolu, Eevee, Phanpy, Vulpix, and Shinx, while a brand new storyline will follow the miraculous (and rather dubious, for want of synchronicity in the Pokemon canon) return of Grovyle the Thief.

There'll also be some new guild-based episodes allowing you to take control of Pokemon you don’t actually own.

In many respects you can never have too many Pokemon games, but this does sound like another for obsessive completionists as much as hardcore gamers. No doubt we'll be taking a look at it before too long.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
