At a Q&A following Nintendo president Satoru Iwata's investors briefing, the gaming chief revealed that 3DS will not be the final name of the company's upcoming 3D-enabled DS.

"We've said that it will be released during this term, so the announcement of the formal name will not be too far off," Iwata said in answer to a question about the 3DS's final name.

Nintendo is no stranger to code names and development titles. The Wii was called Revolution for such a long time, Nintendo fans were sure that it was the console's final name. The Gamecube was called the Dolphin and the N64 was called the Nintendo Ultra 64.

While in the world of handhelds, the DS was Project Nitro and the pintsize Gameboy Micro was referred to as Oxygen internally.

So what would you like the 3DS to be called?
