Harvest Moon: Grand Bazaar DS opens for US business in July

Before We Rule, there was Farmville. And before Farmville there was Harvest Moon.

Perhaps Mike should consider asking Natsume, the developer of the Harvest Moon series, for his life back, rather than entering rehab.

But I digress...

Harvest Moon: Grand Bazaar is the latest entry in the long-running hit farm management series, this time offering exciting new features like the ability to run your own shop and a multiplayer mode in which you can invite other friends to your farm.

Camden Market

Both that shop and your farm lie in Zephyr Town. Unfortunately, the town’s regular bazaar resembles Camden Market and is, therefore, crying out for some much-needed entrepreneurship from you.

Instead of flogging knock-off watches and perfumes though, you are charged with raising animals, harvesting crop and crafting a few rare delicacies, all for resale .

Once the town’s bazaar is back up and running with exotic stock flying off the shelves, the farm itself can be expanded, ad infinitum.

Back in November 2008, Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness received the Pocket Gamer Bronze award with an almost plaintive plea for the definitive Harvest Moon title to arrive at some point in the future.

So here’s hoping Grand Bazaar can fill that role.

As a bonus, players who pre-order the game at GameStop will receive a limited edition plush horse. Quantities are limited, so be quick out the stalls.

Harvest Moon: Grand Bazaar will make its first public appearance at the E3 trade show and will retail in the US in July for $29.99.
