Guitar Hero: On Tour looks set to take DS by storm

Way back in early 2007, we heard rumblings of a Guitar Hero game heading to DS. And then it was like someone pulled the amp out of the socket and it all went quiet.

But news has kicked off again and it seems now almost 99.654 per cent certain that DS owners will be getting their own version of Guitar Hero to rock out to.

Several sources yesterday printed a release schedule from Activision (we don't know yet if it's definitely official) and among the DS games on it were Guitar Hero: On Tour, which was down there for a June 2008 release.

Back-up confirmation came from website Trademork which today uncovered the news that Activision has filed to protect the trademark Guitar Hero: On Tour in relation to computer game software.

So there you have it, thrashy guitar rhythm-action on DS almost guaranteed. Now we just have to find out how it's all going to work on the handheld. We're assuming a real-sized guitar peripheral is out of the question but some sort of peripheral is expected.
