E3 2008: Guitar Hero: On Tour Decades rocking onto DS in September
Nintendo unveils new update of smash Activision title
Everyone loves to play air guitar, so it was hardly surprising to hear that Guitar Hero: On Tour (pictured) shifted 300,000 copies in the first week in the US alone.
What was a pleasant revelation, though, was the follow-up announcement that a new launch, Guitar Hero: On Tour Decades, is due to be released in the next few months.
As you'd expect from the name, Guitar Hero: On Tour Decades looks set to focus on specific eras of music (though not confirmed, we'd guess there'll be different versions for '60s, '70s, '80s, '90s, '00s in the same way that the themed variations of Guitar Hero on console work for rock, Aerosmith, etc).
But it's not all about money-spinning as the game also promises to allow players to share tracks across different variations of the game (including the original On Tour) and rock out in harmony.
More as we get it.
