There was once a time where games were all about shooting aliens and kung-fu kicking people in head. Now, we wouldn't be surprised if - in five years time - we're treating those games like the most original things we've ever seen among the slew of household chore and dog-sitting games.

It would seem the makers of
Cooking Mama are about to take Mama out of the kitchen. But not too far. Just out of the back door in fact, and into the garden. Yes - according to the latest issue of Japanese magazine
Famitsu -
Gardening Mama is on its way.
The magazine reports the game will be released onto DS this winter in Japan. With any luck, it'll then be picked up by a UK publisher and released here.
Until more details emerge, we can only speculate whether Mama will be a bit more chilled out in her gardening guise. Or if a wrongly-pruned rose bush is going to send her into a fiery rage. Either way, we're looking forward to seeing the screenshots of green-fingered Mama, which we're hoping will materialise soon.
