Nintendo is set to launch new 'DS Download Centre' stands throughout the UK, according to the latest issue of the Official Nintendo Magazine.

The old ones have long been abandoned. Not that we saw many about in the first place. But this time around Nintendo is promising they'll be better supported, so not left sitting about running a copy of a six-month old game, then. They'll also offer a few more features.

Probably the most useful of which is still going to be downloading content. You'll be able to grab all the latest wi-fi downloads from the centres as well as, we hope, the odd few bonus downloads.

The centres will obviously also come with a DS Lite attached so gamers can try out game demos (which Nintendo says will be regularly updated with the latest games), and will be equipped with a video screen so passing loiterers don't have to crane their necks to see what's going on.

It sounds like they're going to be spread far and wide, with GAME, Gamestation, HMV and other retailers and supermarkets all apparently getting them. Hopefully, then, you should see at least one cropping up in a shop near you very shortly. So never leave home without your DS.
