Cocoto Kart Racer speeding towards DS
And it's hoping to overtake Mario Kart
Midway has announced it has acquired the rights to bring Neko Entertainment's Cocoto Kart Racer to European audiences.
We've already reviewed the mobile version of Cocoto, and found it to be a solid, if short-lived Mario Kart-esque effort. So it'll be interesting to see how it compares directly to Nintendo's classic franchise on the same platform.
According to Midway's press release, the game promises 12 "good 'n' evil characters and their crazy karts", as well as two modes of play – championship and quick-race style events – across 15 tracks.
But it's not just straightforward racing – each character possesses the ability to launch a variety of attacks with which to thwart the competition.
Like we said, very Mario Kart.
We should have a review some time towards the end of the year.
