Mummified PC games resurrected on Nintendo's handheld. Again

Ankh: Curse of the Scarab King returns on the DS this September

Although Daniel Jackson suspected the pyramids were built by aliens, he probably never suspected they were ancient Egyptian nightclubs.

In Ankh: Curse of the Scarab King, that's precisely what they are, and the follow up to the two previous PC titles is now clawing its way out of the sand and onto the DS.

Following the exploits of young Egyptian party animal Assil, who has a curse put on him for larging it up and waking the dead, Ankh: Curse of the Scarab King puts a comical lilt on the ancient adventure RPG.

Promising vibrant historical locations, bustling cities, exotic bazaars and tropical dense undergrowth, the host of amusing characters lead you through a puzzle-based adventure to save your life within 24 hours.

Jack Bauer meets The Mummy. What more do you want?

(Ankh: Curse of the Scarab King was first announced in 2007 and had been due to appear in towards the end of that year but failed to materialise. Second time around, publisher XIDER Games is now promising a September release.)

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
