Mighty Switch Force developer WayForward turning animated series Adventure Time into a Nintendo DS game

The creator of Cartoon Network series Adventure Time has revealed on Twitter that he's working with Mighty Switch Force developer WayForward to turn his animated franchise into a Nintendo DS game.

"Dang.. Compy crashed while I was drawin a gif of this 3DS wavin it's arms around announcin the Adventure Time 3DS game," Pendleton Ward, the brains behind the animated television series, tweeted.

Despite the above tweet mentioning the 3DS, Ward later confirmed that the Adventure Time game is actually intended for the DS, instead.

Unfortunately, besides a tentative release date of "later this year sometime", no details on the forthcoming title were revealed.

Those familiar with the animated series, however, will know that it follows the adventures of a young boy named Finn and his magical dog Jake, who reside in the post-apocalytic Land of Ooo.

We're not quite sure how that will translate into a DS title, but we'll keep you updated.
