FIFA World Cup 2006 DS tips, hints and cheats
Game name: 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany | Developer: EA Canada | Publisher: Electronic Arts | Format: DS | Genre: Sports | Players: 1-4
Start out by playing the Global Challenge and the Skill Challenge modes – you'll get a better idea of the basic controls.
The through-ball 'X' is exceptionally efficient, so use it whenever you even sniff a chance.
Shooting is a black art, so get out your spell book.
Don't trust your keeper at all, especially if he dives – he'll take ages to get up.
The left shoulder button modifies other moves, so hold it down to pull off 1-2 passes, chipped through balls and lobbed shots, or tap it once for skill moves
Wing play is the easiest way to get goals to begin with, so get it out to your wide men, sprint until near the by-line, and then press 'Y' to launch a cross.
The basic tackle key pushes the ball away from both of you; try to rob the opponent by running into them or calling in a second tackler with the left shoulder button.
Keep an eye on the bottom screen during set pieces – you can change players and lose your marker before playing a free kick, corner or throw.
