Nintendo puts out Pink Ribbon DS

We're used to seeing limited edition DS consoles with Triforce logos or little Nintendogs puppies on them, but Nintendo's latest fancy DS is a bit different from the norm.

The white DS comes with a pink ribbon emblazoned on its lid - the symbol which is now synonymous with breast cancer research.

For every console that's sold, Nintendo will donate $5 (of the RRP of $129.99) to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, with a guaranteed minimum donation of $100,000 promised.

Apple did a similar thing a couple of years back, releasing a limited edition red iPod Nano and donating 5 per cent of the sales to Bono's AIDS/HIV charity.

The Pink Ribbon DS lite is only available in the US, and it's probably unlikely to see a release here.

So if you really like the look of it - and want to advertise to the world what a compassionate sort you are - you'll probably need to order it from a US source. We're sure there'll be lots of eBay sellers out there who will be passing any profits made onto the charity. (Not).
