New Nintendo DS Centre launches in UK

Following Nintendo's recent announcement that it would be re-releasing the Nintendo DS Centre in retail outlets in a new and improved form, the publisher has launched a dedicated website for its demo and download stations.

The new stations are hitting the UK now and replace the old versions which seem to have gradually disappeared anyway. They incorporate a search function which lets users search the range of demos available by genre, title or developer, which can then be tried out on the attached DS console.

Just a few of the initial games available will be Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, Sight Training and Animal Crossing but games still to be released will also be playable.

As well as playing games, the Centres also incorporate a download service enabling DS owners to download demos and extra content for their existing games. A full list of the downloadable content is available is on the website, as is a list of retailers who will house the Centres.

They seem a bit on the sparse side at the moment, but hopefully they'll hit more shops if they prove a success. My nearest one is about 30 miles away and, lovely as Chippenham is, I'm not sure I fancy travelling that far to visit Woolworths and play DS games. So do let us know what they're like if you get chance to try one out.
