Special gold Zelda Triforce-engraved DS on its way

Actually, it's not just gold. Two spanking new special edition DS consoles have cropped up unannounced in US retailer ads (see them over at Kotaku).

The new colours are part of special bundles that look likely to be released in the US in the run up to Christmas. The special edition Zelda: Phantom Hourglass DS is gold with the Triforce symbol decorating one corner of the lid. It comes with a copy of the game, all for $149.99 (£72).

Or for the same price you can opt for a metallic rose colour DS, complete with paw print decoration and bundled with a copy of Nintendogs: Best Friends Edition.

Will we ever get them here in the UK? It currently looks unlikely but we'll obviously keep you updated on any news. If you really can't wait, then be prepared to pay a small fortune for yours on eBay.
