You probably won't have played any of ustwo's previous dot games.

That's because when they were first released, you couldn't find them on the App Store, as their titles - such as ".(TM)" - were unsearchable.

Thankfully the developer has learnt its lesson from ".(TM)", "..(TM)" and "...(TM)" (it skipped "....(TM)"), with what would have been ".....(TM)" instead called DOT5URBO.

Power pill

As with the other games in the series, it involves you controlling a dot. In this case, your dot automatically moves across the screen from left to right, being chased by some nasty - if abstract - spikes.

Your goal is to get your dot as far as you can before game over by tapping to jump it from the bottom of the screen to the top (and vice versa), avoiding the spike obstacles in your way.

Picking up blue power ups boosts your energy meter. This drops over time and whenever you collide with spikes, while yellow power ups make you invincible for a short period of time. You can compare your success and unlock achievements via Game Center.

DOT5URBO is available now for iPhone and iPod touch and is free, although you can pay 99c, €0.79 or 59p if the in-game ads really annoy you.

You can see how it plays in the following video.
