The PSP software draught is something we've all noted and commented on over the last year or so, but it seems there is a positive side to it for some.

Speaking about its upcoming music game release DJ Max Fever in an interview with Siliconera, PM Studios' Michael Yum noted that "the game should be easy to find. Almost every retailer has made a commitment to the game. The drought of PSP games has really helped us."

It seems that at least the lack of new software coming out on PSP means smaller developers and publishers at least have opportunity to shine. DJ Max is the sort of game that could get lost on a console such as DS, seeing as it's not a well-known brand in the west and the series previously hasn't been released outside of Korea. Thanks to PSP's lack of new games, though, it seems retailers are happy to push it.

Developer Pentavision is currently still working on the game, which is scheduled for release in North America this November. A European release has yet to be confirmed.
