We live another day - DEFCON DS is 'some way off'

Naughty, naughty Play.com. It still has DEFCON DS listed online with a September 26th release date, as we reported earlier, but according to Pinnacle, the publisher/distributor for developer Introversion, the information is incorrect.

"I'm afraid the info on Play is incorrect and will be removed next week. Both Introversion & Pinnacle have worked together on DEFCON boxed product before, but I can tell you we are some way off having any DS finished product and making any official announcements to this effect," we were told by Pinnacle's marketing manager.

So not a total refutation then - as the terms "some way off", "DS finished product" and "official announcement" suggest.

Maybe we can look forward to the dual screen apocalypse sometime in 2009.
