Cut the Rope: Holiday Gift out soon for iPhone and iPad for free

Chillingo’s maddeningly addictive rope-cutting game Cut the Rope will be getting another box full of delicious sweets hung ever-so-slightly out of reach of a cute green creature called Om Nom, in the form of the Cut the Rope: Holiday Gift standalone expansion.

Cut the Rope caused a stir when it was released a few months ago, picking up a Pocket Gamer Silver Award thanks to its combination of simple slicing gameplay and clever puzzling (not to mention the adorable little Om Nom himself).

This separate app to the original game comes with 25 festive levels, with special items like Christmas stockings that teleport candy between pairs, and party antlers for the little greedy monster.

Despite being a separate download, Cut the Rope: Holiday Gift will be a free app, open to all boys and girls – even the naughty ones that didn’t buy the original game despite it being very good and only 59p. Yeah, we wrote a list of names down, so you'd better watch out.

In any case, Cut the Rope: Holiday Gift will be arriving down the App Store chimney later in the month. We’ll keep our eyes open during the night to see when it arrives.
