Crush Bunny

Much as we try to defend gaming, there’s no denying that many gamers are privy to at least a small measure of bloodlust from time to time. Which is why Crush Bunny is the perfect antidote to indulging one’s inner barbarian - even Genghis Khan would have a hard time watching the cute characters of 3Side Studio’s latest effort perish under the cascading meteors that fill the screen.

The concept is simple: a selection of bunnies wander back and forth across the screen while meteors fall from above. Your job is to protect the bunnies, controlling where the meteors fall by sliding a countdown icon across the top of the screen into a position where it won’t harm any marching bunnies.

Each time you successfully protect the bunnies from the falling meteors, you earn money to spend on extra battlements to help protect the fluffy critters in your charge.

The more protected your bunnies feel, the happier they are, which fills a bar at the bottom of the screen. As soon as the bar is full, the level is complete. That's all there is to it, but Crush Bunny is more than that, offering a gentle difficulty slope and enough visual distraction to keep you enchanted through its duration.

The bunnies themselves are wonderfully stylised blocky little creatures and sport the same iconic cuteness of other famous bunnies in the gaming realm (here’s lookin' at you, Rabbids). In fact, the whole aesthetic experience is solid, with animated backgrounds, attractive front end design, and in-game music that never outstays its welcome.

There's a shortage of extra modes, but the gameplay is broken up with occasional mini-games, and all of the online score sharing features that iPhone gamers have come to expect are well represented.
