With Englishmen still basking in The Ashes' glory, and the promise of the Cricket World Cup later in the year, now's the time to release a game like Cricket Captain 2010.

Based on the PC game of the same name from developer Childish Things, this iPhone version is published by My Interactive and co-developed by Four Door Lemon.

Labelled 'the first ever cricket management game for the iPhone,' it builds on over 10 years of enhancements to the PC version to provide a fully featured experience.

You can take control of your favourite team from the English county, Australian domestic or international systems.

As you'd expect with such games, you get access to career, current and year-by-year stats of almost every player in the first class game from around the world.

You also get to use specialist coaching to develop your team and access to the transfer market, including overseas and specialist 20-over players.

Forms of the game included are 20-over and 50-over games plus one day and five day series.

Of course, once playing a match - motion captured 3D highlights are provided - you're in control of all the decision making. You'll get in-game hints, if you want them, and the game is integrated with Game Center too.

Cricket Captain 2010 is out now for iPhone and iPod touch, priced $6.99, €5.49 or £3.99.
