That's right, yet another dysfunctional pet for your phone

Although it may sound like a rather weak (and rather late) cash-in, the Crazy Dog doesn't actually have anything to do with Jamster's equally deranged semi-naked reptile. Rather, it's a new reflex-based game from the superbly named The Mighty Troglodytes (previously responsible for the likes of Yu: A Warrior Tale and Adventure Boy in Zooloo land).

And whereas the batty frog's unhinged nature manifests itself in the driving of an imaginary motorbike, the canine here is crazy in a more conventional frothing at the mouth, bite anything that moves sense.

Naturally, this makes him rather difficult to feed (unless you're planning on giving him an elbow sandwich), so his owners have taken to dropping his food bowls some distance away, thus leaving his snacks open to being snaffled by starving strays.

Assuming the lead role, your job is to fend off these hounds by barking at them in a bid to stop the crazy dog becoming malnourished and, according to the press release, depressed. (Evidently, two distinct mental conditions would be too much for the animal or perhaps 'depressed canine' didn't have the same ring.)

The game is available now, along with two other similarly manic animal-based releases from the same Garden Stories series, Smash The Mole and Gob 'n' Frog.

No doubt we'll bring you a review at some point. Right now though we've got an appointment with our therapist to keep.
