It's a law of physics that two things cannot occupy the same space at the same time. It's a law of pocket gaming, however, that this doesn't really apply to Tetris.

Half a dozen games a month seem to occupy the slot reserved for The New Tetris. Newton would be turning (well, rotating) in his grave.

The latest to come our way is Constant Techno, which injects a bit of 1980s rave culture into gameplay pilfered from Russian block-dropping puzzler.

And the musical connections go further than the 'shape-throwing' art style. We're told that: "The soundtrack for the game was written by a talented musician, whose songs were nominated for Eurovision 2006 contest."

Well, at least he didn't win it – there must still be some hope.

Promising new new features, special bonus games and more than 50 different levels (whatever that means in the context of Tetris), Constant Techno has just been released, and so should be making some noise at a portal or operator near you soon.
