Commando: Steel Disaster crashes into US stores

After the buoyant reception the rebirth of the Neo Geo classic Metal Slug has received lately, it's no wonder other developers are making an effort to bring quality, high-octane hand drawn graphics back to the gaming world.

2D is the new 3D, and Commando: Steel Disaster looks to be a worthy clone of the retro brutal-shooter. Chinese developer Mana Computer Software promises rich, hand-drawn visuals and hyper-intense action in its new DS title, and judging by the videos we've run, we're inclined to believe it.

Comparisons to the SNK classic Metal Slug were kind of inevitable, but Commando: Steel Disaster appears to be very much its own game. No news yet on a UK or European release date, but stay tuned for further news and, of course, you're very own Pocket Gamer review.
