Data East's 1984 entry into the short-lived, but celebrated laserdisc coin-op craze, Cobra Command, recently saw an iPhone conversion that remastered the gunship game to full accelerometer and touchscreen-powered glory.

The game puts you in the seat of an anti-terrorist helicopter, flying through a huge number of pre-rendered animation clips as you take out the terrorist trash.

Unlike most laserdisc games, Cobra Command still packs in some more traditional arcade shmup mechanics, along with the usual well-timed joystick gestures.

Developer Revolutionary Concepts is pushing its game on the run up to Christmas with a 59p/99c special offer. With over 20 hours of highly unique and beautiful looking gameplay, make sure you don't miss out on this hot offer.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
